- Intro to 3D Lettering: Overview of 3D lettering basics and discussion on the importance of light, shadows and perspective.
- Tools and Materials: Guidance on selecting the right tools for different effects.
- Techniques + Creating Depth: Step-by-step instuction on various techniques: shadowing, drop shadows, overlay techniques, gradients, textures, 1 point, 2 point and 3 point perspective.
- Interactive Session: Participants apply learned techniques in a mini 3D letter project with Natalie.
- Q&A and Wrap-up: Open session for participant questions. Discuss how to apply these skills for commercial work.

3 Day Workshop on Saturdays. First workshop of 2023!

In this 3 day workshop, you will create a beautiful lettering piece like this with me via Zoom! Each workshop we create an entirely new piece of artwork! I’ll work with you and guide you through lettering on the iPad. Each day we will have a 2-hour workshop with a 15 min Q&A at the end. Each workshop is spread out weekly to give you a few days to review the work and complete a mini homework assignment.

Most frequent questions and answers
Every attendee needs to have a pencil, eraser, ruler, and paper. Feel free to use any kind of the above tools. I’ll be using Blackwing pencils, Pentel eraser, ruler, and Baronfig notebook for the workshop.
Unfortunately, I cannot offer refunds. If you cannot make it to the workshop please purchase the $10 ticket to get access to the full recording for 30 days.
If you’re a beginner lettering artist I highly recommend this fun workshop.I started on paper as a lettering artist and I think this is one of the best ways to start lettering 🙂
Kits will be shipped out the week prior to the workshop. There have been some USPS delays so please keep that in mind.

When you sign up for the workshop, you’ll be enrolled to receive exclusive workshop materials, including a detailed digital workbook and practice sheets. These materials will be emailed to you a week prior to the event to ensure everyone starts on the same page and to prevent anyone from starting ahead. This approach keeps the live session interactive and engaging for all participants. Additionally, you’ll get the Zoom link and any necessary instructions for joining the live workshop.
This workshop is open to everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned artists. Whether you’re just starting out in lettering or you’re an experienced designer looking to add new techniques to your repertoire, you’ll find valuable insights and methods to enhance your work. We’ll cover the basics and gradually move into more advanced techniques, ensuring everyone can follow along and learn at their own pace.
For this workshop, I will be demonstrating and teaching via a screen share of Adobe Fresco. You can also use Procreate if that’s an app you’re more familiar with. But I highly recommend trying Fresco during this workshop.
No worries! If you can’t attend the live session, we’ve got you covered. Every ticket holder will receive access to the recorded workshop, available for 30 days after the event. You can watch it and learn at your own pace.
The workshop will be held live on Zoom. Once you register, you’ll receive an email with the Zoom link and instructions on how to join a few days prior to the workshop. You won’t need to download any additional software if you already have Zoom installed, but if not, you can join directly through your browser or download Zoom beforehand for a smoother experience

Every attendee needs to have an iPad, Adobe Fresco downloaded and an charged drawing stylus. We will be hosting the workshop via Zoom so have Zoom downloaded and ready to go on your smartphone, tablet or computer.
Unfortunately, I cannot offer refunds. If you cannot make it to one of the workshop days you will have access to a recording of the workshop. After each session, the group will receive an email with the recording. You can access each session recording for 30 days.
If you’re a beginner lettering artist I highly recommend this fun workshop. I’ve done plenty of workshops in person but this will be the first virtual one and I’m excited to share this experience!
